What does it mean to be holy? Do we have the wrong idea about holiness?
There are so many believers today that have placed a demand on others and themselves to live holy lives but how can we live holy lives when there is so much unholiness around us?
LET'S DEFINE WHAT THE WORD "HOLINESS" MEANS FIRST......
HOLINESS MEANS "TO BE SET APART" OR "TO BE UNCOMMON"
Understanding holiness as a position instead of an action helps us as we learn and grow into what our purpose is on the earth. When we are sin-conscience, we find ourselves feeling guilty, condemned and ashamed but when we are Son-conscious we find ourselves feeling loved, forgiven, and empowered......
Uncommon in a "common" world
The world is full of people always following the trends. They want to be like someone else, dress like someone else and deal with their problems the way the world does....
That's not how we are designed to be.....
We have been set apart to shine as a light in a dark world....
Jesus said this:
Matthew 5:14-17 "You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in Heaven."
If we hide our light then we will appear dark in a dark world, in other words, we will look just like everyone else.
If we are to be holy as He is holy then we must believe that we have been set apart for great things.....once we believe then our lives will reflect that belief.
BELIEVE YOU'VE BEEN SET APART AND WATCH YOUR LIFE BE TRANSFORMED!!!!
